Newsflash!
Golden Browne Llamas were in the January 1, 2007
118th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA!
1st time ever for Llamas to be in this Historical Parade!
The theme of the 2007 Rose Parade was "Our Good Nature" and llamas certainly have a very "good nature."

Golden Browne llamas is proud to have been able to participate in the 118th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA on January 1, 2007.  We conditioned ourselves and our llamas to walk the
5 1/2 miles parade route on city streets.  Meagan and Checkers and John and Bounder represented our Ranch in this famous internationally broadcast event.  The llama unit was the 8th unit out of 97 entries going into the parade.

John's Great Uncle James K. Ingham. “Uncle Jamie Ingham”, who is also Meagan’s Great-Great Uncle, was the President of the Tournament of Roses Parade in 1943, during World War II. The theme of the Parade in 1943 was “We’re in to Win”. The Grand Marshall was Earl Warren who was the Governor of California at the time. He later became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

In 1943 the Rose Bowl Football Game was back in Pasadena; in 1941 and 1942 they were afraid that the Japanese would attack so they moved it to the east coast. The score of the football game in 1943 was Georgia 9 – UCLA 0

Hi!  Welcome to Our Website
from
GOLDEN BROWNE LLAMAS
John, Marti, and Meagan Browne

Golden Browne Llamas is located in the High Desert in Southern California in San Bernardino County.  We have a cozy little llama ranch in a small country town called Phelan.  (Pronounced Feelin' )   We are near Wrightwood, Hesperia, Victorville and Apple Valley just off the I-15.   It is great to look out and see the snow capped mountains from our kitchen window during the winter and also see the beauty of the  Joshua trees and other desert terraine.  We are so fortunate to have our ranch located on nice level ground.  That is a big plus when one is "schlepping" hay!  This is a wonderful wholesome community to have llamas and raise our daughter and is easy to travel to.  If you want to experience peace and serenity, this is a haven in the High Desert.  The beautiful sunrises and sunsets and fresh clean air make this a welcome "get-a-way".

Our llama ranch is known as a “Kid's and Kids at Heart” Haven.  In addition to our wonderful Llama Herd, we have two adorable alpacas, a true black and a white that we look forward to spinning their exquisite fiber every year.  We are blessed with two really awesome Horses, an Arabian, originally from Saudi Arabia that drives a carriage and is ridden, plus a beautiful sorrel Missouri Fox Trotter that we use for trail riding.   Some say horses spook at llamas...not ours...they love our llamas and our llamas love them!  Our horses and alpacas even love each other!

We also have beautiful Show Quality Golden Retrievers, Kitties, (several rescues) plus Penelope, our adorable Registered Ragdoll Cat, plus we get awesome fresh eggs daily from our Laying Hens.

We love just hanging out with our llamas and alpacas especially at sundown when they are really playful.  Kids love to come over and take them for walks and train them on our obstacle course.  We are learning how to cart drive with our llamas so it will be fun to go out on the country roads for pleasure driving.  We have great fun in our carriage, a Surrey with the Fringe on Top, pulled by our Arabian horse.  Soon our llamas will give him a run for his money!

***********************************************************
We also take our llamas out into the community for educational purposes, public relations, pet therapy and many parades.  We love going to a select number of shows each year and have great fun with our friends in the llama community.  We have fun felting, spinning, knitting, crochetting and weaving the llama and alpaca fiber.  We love creating new things with it.  Check out our Products For Sale page for one of a kind designer wearable art products and more!

We have a very select breeding program and only have a few llamas available for sale each year at very affordable prices.  We update our site frequently so check back often!
